Happy Thanksgiving 2010
Many people are doing this on their “social media” accounts this year…well I have a website so I am doing it here 🙂
The things I am thankful for do not really change year to year. I am always thankful for my family, my friends, and generally being alive and for the most part, healthy.
This year however was probably the biggest year of my life to date, so here is a short list of the things that I am thankful for in 2010.
I am thankful for:
My immediate family
There have been many changes throughout the year in all of our lives for better and for worse, but we are all still standing. My immediate family has been making changes regarding work and personal development, my extended family is moving and shaking their way into new ventures(new businesses, new babies, new homes, etc). You guys are all amazing people and I wish you the best.
Also thankful for the people that I live with. Nothing worse than having roommates, including ones that are family, that you just do not get along with. While it may get rowdy sometimes, I’ve been lucky enough to have some good people living in my house.
I am also thankful for my dog Major Tom, he knows how to bring the jokes.
My Hijacking Music crew
The Hijacking Music squad has been kicking ass and taking names all year. This was certainly our biggest year regarding the new people and contacts we’ve made, music being released, and even the number of events we pulled off including our first Festival which went off better than any of us could have imagined. Another big event, Hijacking the Holidays Xmas Party happening Dec 17th come out!
By supporting each other these past few years doing what we all love to do, we have grown closer and I honestly feel like these people are my family. If I go out, I see them. If I stay home, I see them.
You guys are always on my mind and I am very thankful that we have all met and hope that we can continue this journey for a long time.
Being Able To Run My Own Business
One of the most difficult and exciting things I have ever done is start my own business. Anyone that knows me knows that I’ve had the entreprenureal spirit in me since I was a child. It has been challenging to say the least, but I would not trade the struggles and successes of being able to have my own gig for anything in the world.
I get up early and stay up late, probably working way more hours than I would with a regular 9-5 job, but I am doing it. Drumming up regular business can be tough, but I am free to do anything that I want any time that I want, like travel to Savannah for WordCamp…my business paid for me to do this!. The people that I answer to are my clients, which I get to choose.
Thank you to everyone that has supported me and helped me along on this journey, you know who you are.
Just Being Here
For just being alive to struggle through problems, to rise above and succeed, to meet and mingle with new and old friends, and generally experience what it is to be a living breathing human, I am thankful.
If you read this, thank you for reading. Please do not hesitate to let me know what you are thankful for 🙂
