There were only 4 of us but we all had a really great time, got a lot of sun, and WERE ON THE BEACH! Of course we took some pics…
We left ATL around 8AM and were on the beach by 2pm, including a bus ride from the air port and lunch by the condo. Soon as we hit the beach, the topless girls came out….well really they were already there, South Beach is a ‘top optional’ beach all around, which can be good and bad =/
These girls were the first we saw and the ladies took a phone cam pic paparatzi style:

We did a few hours of hanging out there before it was time to eat and get more drinks. I am pretty sure we hit up a place called Grillfish that night, where I had some salmon that was UBER.
The week we were in Miami was also the Miami Spice, where most of the high dollar restaurants offer up a $35 3 course menu, so we took that opportunity to check out a place called Tantra. Walking from the condo we just happened to walk into a Ricky Martin video shoot…no joke, he was really there shooting a video. The music was the same music he’s been making videos to for years, and he looked just like Ricky Martin. Anyway, we made it to tantra where I we ended up having $68 meals. It was all good tho, my 3 courses were the favorite among myself and my friends. Here we are

The next morning was our fishing trip. 9am we went out into the open sea(not too far off shore) and started catching fish. On the way to the trolling area we saw a huge school of flying fish, those things are so crazy to watch just fly out of the water and hover over the waves for a few seconds then splash back into the ocean. While trolling we were landing a ton of Bonitas which is a ‘tuna’ fish, apparently not very good to eat but great for bait!

I was feeling a little queezy from all the rocking but I made it. After an hour or so of trolling we did some drifting and Eve was dominating, every time she threw a baited hook out she got a fish, it was crazy. The first time I reeled back in so we could move I just happened to have a Trigger fish on the end of my hook instead of the bait…didn’t even put up a fight. Later on I caught a few King fish(which was all we caught while drifting besides my Trigger fish). The king fish was gutted and filleted for us after the trip…right in front of these fish(each one is about 4 feet long…looked and acted like long carp, skurry)

We took the fish home and cooked up some King Fish pasta, which was most delicious.

Also while we were in Miami was the Miami Wine Tasting Festival, over 100+ vendors and zillions of wine to taste, cept the tickets were out of our price range for the trip. One of the fine ladies that went on the trip with us managed to score us 4 tickets to the event, under the condition that we were ‘off the street wine reporters’ for the fine magazine The Wine Report(BTW TYVM!!!!!!!). We got some notebooks and some fancy clothes on and headed to the event. We picked up our media passes and went inside. I gotta say, this was a great great time. I did what I could to act professional, took notes, commented the wines, tried some new, some old, some olives, some espresso, some cheese, everything was great. By the time we finished I was trashed and acting the fool, fortunately I managed to not make a fool of myself outside of my group and didn’t make my group look like a fool either
. Here we are right before leaving the Collectors Club and the event.

FYI, my wine glass made it home safely.
Last day on the beach we took a walk all the way to the end:

When we got there the clouds were being awesome, there was one that looked like the clouds from Independence Day when the spaceships first arrive and break through the atmosphere:

While maxing and relaxing we combed the beach around our towels and found some cool shells and coral, then pieced together a great landmark…SHELLHENGE:

We left it as a memorial to our great time in Miami. Later that night we hit the beach again and found two bottles sticking up out of the sand…we were a little drinking and decided that they made a great pair of ( . )( . ), so we took the liberty of creating a head and body to go along with it. What came out of our efforts was a fine looking sand Medusa complete with seaweed hair and a brazilian wax. When we headed back to the hotel the sky dropped out and it poured down rain for a few minutes, no telling if she made it but we definitely did.
We flew out the next morning and got back to ATL in time for brunch, cept we ate pizza and salad instead of breakfast food
.
The End
