My Drone Music Project is Playing Out of State Tomorrow

Tomorrow my drone music project Triop is performing our first out of state show.

We’ll be playing Buddhapalooza in Tennessee which is a Day of Meditation, Lectures and Performance.

In Japan, Zen Buddhists celebrate April 8 as the Buddhas Birthday. Continuing a celebration that began locally last year, the Zen Group of Chattanooga will bring together three Buddhist traditions to offer a day of meditation, dharma talks (lectures) and performance on Saturday, April 7 to honor the great teacher.

Lotus Quadrant – Recording New Music

Yesterday, after our massive Country White Bread French Toast w/ Maple syrup glazed Sweet Potato brunch, we got cracking on practice.

Sundays are our band day, and it’s pretty much my favorite day of the week. We all hang out, eat like kings, and play music until we drop.

After running through most of our material and working on some new stuff, we decided to go full on into RECORD mode.

Our first and last release was a christmas cover song, so we thought it’s about time to release something of our own.

The song we worked on is called Tourmaline(you’ll notice I am holding a black piece of tourmaline in the photo)

Roughly 8 hours in the studio, we recorded all drums, bass, guitar, and most of the vocals.

As well we’ve already done quite a bit of mixing and editing.

What does all of this mean for you?

Hijacking Music taking 10+ artists to Austin for SXSW

That’s right, we at Hijacking Music have put together an Atlanta Music showcase at this years South By South West event down in Austin Texas.

I am not going to lie, this is HUGE for us.  I’ve never been to Austin and can’t wait to see what SXSW is all about.

We’ve picked a line up that includes some of ATL’s finest performers to represent our city and let people know it’s time to stop sleeping on Atlanta.

PAY ATTENTION WORLD, Atlanta is bubbling with a crazy amount of talent and is ready to explode.

Hopefully, someone on this list will walk away from this SXSW experience with a situation…a good situation.

Hijacking Music Festival 2011 Video Promo

On November 12 2011 I am throwing my second Atlanta Music Festival called The Hijacking Music Festival 2011.

This video will give you a good understanding of what we are trying to do…it’s not your typical music festival.

Shout out to Tyler Sims who helped me put this together. He shot all the video and did all the editing.
