Affiliate Marketing?

June 26, 2009

It’s weird to me that it’s been almost a year since I was semi actively posting here, but I guess that is how things go. I suppose it is somewhat gratifying that I’ve managed to keep posting to this ‘blog’ since 2006 even if there has been some down time here and there.  One of my first posts was about starting some company, which I can tell you never went through.  That is a problem I’ve had thus far in my life, actually following through all the way on a business idea to the point that the income is residual.

Affiliate Marketing is at its least, sales.  Being an ‘affiliate’ means selling someone elses product.  This can be physical or digital products, for this example lets use digital products only.

Washington – A court in the United States laid down a 1.9-million-dollar fine against a Minnesota woman who illegally downloaded 24 songs from the internet, CNN reported. The trial against Jammie Thomas-Rasset was the first case in the United States for such copyright infringement, CNN quoted her lawyer as saying.

Amazing, there was a jury that is either so far out of the loop, or just too old to care, that this unessasary example is being made of this poor woman.

I highly doubt that anyone stops downloading music because this lady was punished for it. Especially those people that download WAY more than 24 songs….try downloading 50 albums in 1 day…what then? Sentenced to death??
